Description
Ron Garrett was a young climber when he made his way to Talkeetna in the mid-70’s. He befriended the owners of the local roadhouse and traded room and board for chopping firewood and other odd jobs the old couple had.
This book offers a snapshot of what Talkeetna – and the Roadhouse – was like around 1975. Included are some recipes, but mostly it’s a short and spirited introduction to many of Talkeetna’s past characters with an emphasis on the mountaineering community.
